Thinking outside the bottle
“Don't be a snob about wine in cans, pouches or cartons. Glass bottles have a much higher carbon footprint. ... and their transports are the two biggest contributors to the carbon footprint of wine.”

Most wines are consumed within a year of bottling. While we firmly believe that the bottle is still essential for storing wines for ageing, we advocate the use of baby barrels for ready-to-drink wine by the glass. This avoids the wasteful use of corks, labels, capsules, and boxes to hold them, providing a more sustainable way to enjoy wine by the glass.
In addition to the environmental benefits of replacing 26 bottles with a baby barrel, this solution also saves the service time previously required to handle the bottles.
No more cork problems, no more risk of oxidation, no need for argon gas, the baby barrel technology prevents the wine from coming into contact with oxygen and preserves the qualities of the wine.
Wine can be confidently offered at the right temperature, immediately and continuously, in a variety of pour sizes, from small tasters to one litre decanters.
While an opened bottle of wine usually spoils within 24 hours, our baby barrels guarantee the freshness of the wine for at least 60 days.
And once emptied, the baby barrels are 100% recyclable. All the raw materials can be separated in just a few steps and used to make new baby barrels. Important parts are already being made from 100% recycled plastic.
The baby barrel system is completely in line with many companies’ sustainability objectives, without compromising product quality.
