Red wine
TERROIR
Bel Air de Siran comes from the sandy-gravel soils of the Haut-Médoc appellation next to the Margaux plots of Château Siran. The property is managed with great attention by Edouard Miailhe, the 6th generation of the same family owning the estate since 1859.
Bel Air’s noble terroir of only two hectares, has just been entirely replanted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and benefits from the same care as that given to the other wines produced by the estate. Bel-Air de Siran is a fine, elegant wine ready for immediate drinking.
KNOW-HOW
The Siran team favours working the soil, grassing and organic fertilisation. The vineyard is maintained like a garden with a policy of voluntarily limiting yields. No chemical treatments are used. Siran is certified HVE (High Environmental Value).
The grapes are harvested at ideal maturity and sorted by hand. The vinification is done in thermo-regulated stainless-steel tanks, the extraction is done gently by pumping over and is followed by a vatting period of 10 to 20 days. The wine is partially aged in new French oak barrels.
WINE
Best served at 16 degrees, this is an unusual single-varietal Haut-Médoc aged for 12 months in barrel offering a fresh, silky texture with notes of red fruit that glide easily through a long finish. It is a perfect match for prime rib. It is available in bottles exclusively at the Chateau and in baby barrels through Provenance Wine.
TASTING NOTES
“This distinguished 2019 vintage is full of freshness and roundness, with red fruit notes and a long juicy finish that makes it very easy to enjoy and share.” – Edouard Miailhe
